Dassault Aviation livre ses 1ers Rafale à l'Egypte

La cérémonie officielle de réception par la République Arabe d’Égypte de ses trois premiers Rafale s’est tenue aujourd’hui au Centre d’essais en vol de Dassault Aviation, à Istres, sous le patronage de Son Excellence M. Ehab Badawy, ambassadeur d’Égypte en France, et en présence d’Eric Trappier, Président-Directeur général de Dassault Aviation.

Cette première livraison intervient à peine cinq mois après la décision prise par l’Égypte d’acquérir 24 Rafale, 16 biplaces et 8 monoplaces, pour doter son armée de l’air d’un chasseur polyvalent de dernière génération, capable de répondre à ses besoins opérationnels et de lui permettre d’assurer, en toute souveraineté, sa position géostratégique dans la région.

Dans le même temps, un premier groupe d’utilisateurs égyptiens a été formé en France. Les pilotes égyptiens, entrainés dans l’armée de l’Air, convoieront jusqu’au Caire les trois premiers Rafale dès le lendemain de la cérémonie.

 « Ce contrat constitue un nouveau jalon de la coopération qui lie Dassault Aviation et l’Égypte depuis les années 70, soit plus de quarante ans d’un partenariat exemplaire placé sous le signe de l’engagement et de la confiance mutuelle. Après le Mirage 5, l’Alpha Jet et le Mirage 2000, le Rafale est le 4ème avion Dassault à voler sous les cocardes égyptiennes, et l’Égypte, tout comme elle l’avait été pour le Mirage 2000, est le premier client export du Rafale. Nous nous réjouissons de ce partenariat qui a su dans le temps démontrer sa solidité et pérenniser les liens historiques qui unissent nos deux pays. Je remercie, au nom de Dassault Aviation et de ses 8000 salariés, de ses partenaires Thales et Snecma et des 500 entreprises sous-traitantes, les autorités égyptiennes pour la confiance qu’elles nous témoignent encore une fois, ainsi que les autorités et les Forces armées françaises, sans le soutien desquelles ce succès n’aurait pas été possible » a déclaré Eric Trappier.
