Russia succeeded on Wednesday, the first launch of its new rocket from the Angara family from Plessetsk base. It is the first rocket designed entirely after the fall of the USSR. The new launcher is 42 meters high and should be able to embed a payload of 3.8 tons into low orbit. The A5 version of this new launcher (showing a payload of 24.5 tonnes into low orbit and 4.6 tons in geostationary) could make its first test flight in 2015.
